The Deed Is Done
Last Sunday, May 20th, was my baptism day! Today I got the pictures, so I decided today I’d post about it! We left to go to the lake around 3 or 3:15. Dad left his wallet on his bathroom counter, because he didn’t want it to get wet in the lake, of course! Mom said she could put it in her purse, but Dad was like “No, I won’t do anything against the law!”
We get into the little town we’re on the outskirts of, and guess what…spot checks! Every third vehicle. Guess which one we were. Third. Go figure! So we stopped and had a little chat with the police, and he just gave Dad a warning. Then on to the lake!
The B. and H. families already were there, waiting for us by the Fish, Wildlife, & Parks building. Mom had Ben jump out and run over there to tell them why we were late, and to lead them to where we were going to have the baptism. We could tell when Ben told them about the “chat with the cops” because all the ladies put their hands over their mouths!
We went and parked, then walked to the spot where everyone else was waiting.

Everybody sat down on the ground or a chair on the little cliff above the lake, and Dad and I went down. I sat on the bank and Dad stood in the water and held forth.

Then Dad called me to stand in the water with him while he asked me questions!

Then we went out in the water. Dad said to tell him when I was out far enough…but it was Dad who decided to quit when he lost his footing and almost fell!

This next picture kind of speaks for itself!

Post-dunk hug! Don’t we look happy?

Going to shore…

Our little crowd!

Dad and I!

Then we went to our house for food (nachos)! I changed into a pink shirt, and Char had a pink shirt, so we had Joe take a picture of us!

Kenton B. was horsing around, so I asked if he wanted his picture taken, so he said “Sure”, and posed against the refrigerator. Not to be outdone, Joe had to be included! Silly boys!

And, because Mrs. B. had a pink shirt and so did Beth, we took a picture of us pink girls! (left to right, Char, me, Mrs. B., Beth)

And since Joe said I looked too pale in the last one, he took this one of us too!

The B.’s stayed until 12:30 am, talking! (The kids were downstairs playing a game called Mafia, which was a fun card game! I played with them some, listened to the grown-ups some.)
We had tons of fun!!
It was a good day!
In case you haven't noticed, my name is Anne, but in RL it's pronounced Annie. At this moment in time I happen to be 21 years old. Herein you will find: The rants, rambles, and otherwise uninteresting happenings in the life of...well, ME, you might say.
