Open Office
A friend told me about Open Office (OO) a week or so ago, and I just finally got around to downloading it on Darren. If you don’t have MS Word or Excel (or, like us, can’t find the necessary CD’s), you’ll want this. You may never go back to MS Word again! OO Writer has a built-in PDF converter! It looks a lot like MS Word, so there’s not much of a transition shock, but it has many, many more features and is way more customizable.

I tried to use Open Office before, but just couldn’t stick to it totally when I have a Microsoft Office 2003 CD around.

Why?
The one thing I don’t like about OO is it’s awful slow, and I have a slow computer!
