I Invite You
I invite you to take a peek at an article I wrote recently. If you are looking for candy fluff, this isn’t it. It is meant to be challenging and, perhaps, encouraging.
The title?

This is my comment that won’t show up. I’m trying again somewhere else. ha.
” “Don’t look at me if you’re looking for perfection, don’t look at me. I will only let you down. I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction, but don’t look at me, no no no…don’t look at me.†I find this a disturbing song, because in effect the writer is saying “I don’t have to be perfect, I don’t have to be a good example; I can’t be perfect so I won’t try!†“”
I must say I thought it was unfair and biased to your purpose to not include the next line of the song :
“Look at Him.”
I don’t like the song either, but that’s just because of musical preferences. I find it annoying. But I always saw it as the writer saying “I’m striving for perfection in Christ, but I’m only human. As a human, try as I might, I’m going to make mistakes. Don’t look at people for your true example of holiness - go to the source.”
Well written. I commend you. :-)
