I Cut My Finger Off
Well, not all of it, just part of it. Sure, a small part, but still–!
We sharpen our knives once a year: after hunting season, when we’re processing the meat. Consequently, we rarely get cut, save during the meat-processing procedure, when bandaids are kept in large supply. Normally, if the knife slips, no harm is done, you just get a little dent in your finger that goes away after an hour or so. Well, Grammoo was here week before last, and she didn’t like using our dull knives. “What’s the use of having a knife sharpener if you don’t use it?” she wanted to know. So, she so kindly sharpened all our knives for us.
Unfortunately, nobody told me my favorite knife was also Grammoo’s favorite knife, meaning it probably got the most attention, knife-sharpener-ways. The other day I was cutting onions, just…minding my own business! And the knife slipped, and got my left middle finger. Just near the end, it sliced a good piece off, down to the meat. You can see where the skin stops and the meat starts! OH MAN IT HURT. LOTS. And it bled, lots. Beth tried to bandage me up, and it soaked the first gauze thing she put on, so she put a bigger one on.
But then again, I didn’t have to finish the onions.

I REALLLY am sorry about your finger, but after a couple of days I decided I wanted to cut things instead of just denting them. Love, Grammoo

oooh ouch! That sounds painful… I did that once (maybe not so bad, idk) cutting avacados. I think someone had also just sharpened that knife cause it was cutting very nicely (not that avacodos are hard to slice :P) but it gave me a pretty good dent in my finger. Actually I fainted, lol. So you must be tuffer than me if you can take the pain. Hope it will heal fast, anyways.

LOL well, don’t tell anybody, but…I don’t know what happened to the part I cut off! hehehehe (Actually I think it fell off when I was staunching the blood!)
