Browser Extensions
I use FireFox
with these extensions that make things MUCH easier!:
1-ClickWeather
Handy little thing that gives forecasts and current conditions. Wish it was more moveable, though it is nice and can be made fairly unobtrusive down in the statusbar.
All-in-One Sidebar
I put all my extra icons that I want for handy use but don’t want cluttering up my browser (I like tidy browsers!), and put them in the sidebar! And I made the sidebar nonexistent, but when you click the far left of my screen, it appears! Good one.
ColorZilla
This puts a little eyedropper icon in the bottom left of your browser, very unobtrusive, but if you click it you can click any color on the page, and the hex code is automatically copied! You can choose from five copying options, from the name of the color, how the RGB is copied, and whether or not the hex code includes the number sign.
Custom Buttons
Handy extension that lets you create custom buttons (if you know their fancy code) or get buttons the people on their forum have created! I have this one that hides your menu and puts it in one little compact button.
CustomizeGoogle
Ach, where do I start? How about…removing ALL ADS from Google and Gmail, then adding links to other search engines, which automatically search the other engines for what you originally searched for? Love it!
Deepest Sender
Post from your LiveJournal or other blog from the handy sidebar (I love my sidebar!). All the amenities of LiveJournal, including choosing your userpic, mood, location, etc, and even editing the latest posts!
DownloadThemAll!
Very handy downloader that you can filter to download only .mp3’s, .gif’s, or whatever else, without having to bother with every single thing on the page!
Firebug
A tool that actually does more than I use it for; what I use it for is to see how long it takes everything on my site to load! Very neat!
FireGestures
Customizable mouse gestures make browsing easier!
FoxyTunes
Sync with almost any music player, with loads of options. Displays in your toolbar, and you can view the track name, pause, stop, fast-forward to next track, go back a trac, etc…all from your Firefox browser!
GButts
Yes, it has a funny name, but it’s a handy deal! Puts a host of Google/Gmail related buttons (you choose which ones!) in your browser as either a drop-down list or a row of buttons! Quite handy!
Gmail Notifier
A one-account Gmail checker that ads a little button to your bar and has a popup notification of new emails.
GMarks
Recently I changed from Chipmarks to GMarks, the reason being, I like to keep things consolidated. I already have a Google account, I don’t need a Google account and a Chipmarks account! Has a search function, and tags rather than categories which I like because I’m always forgetting which category I put things in! With tags you can have multiple categories. And it opens in my sidebar!
Google Calendar Notifier
Import your Google calendars–as many as you want–and get a tiny icon in your statusbar. When you have a new event, it’ll put a number (for how many events you have coming up). Hover over it, and it’ll tell you what the events are. Very handy!
Greasemonkey
A very handy plugin that allows you to add other scripts, much like plugins, only more flexible, and not requiring browser restarts! The ones I have: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
HTML Validator
After some trouble with a template in which I had neglected one single div ending, my host told me about this…voila!
IE View Lite
For all the “stubborners” who refuse to switch to a better browser, this is for all those last IE checks.
PDF Download
Very very handy! I was always unsatisfied with the way FF handles PDF downloads, and this plugin is great!
Quick Restart
Puts a handy button wherever you want that restarts Firefox, with all your saved tabs. Yes, I’m sure you can manually do it, but it’s too much work. ;)
Search Bar Autosizer
For those of you who like space-saving devices, this resizes your search bar small, but when you start typing (or click the box, depending upon your settings), it gets bigger! Not only that, you can choose to make the box clear after you hit enter, or make it go back to your default search engine if you used a different one.
Stylish
A handy little thing that basically edits the styles on any or all sites you visit. Get rid of adsense ads from all pages, if you want! Customize pages you visit frequently, like your email (I customized Gmail a little!).
Tab Mix Plus
Extensive tab options!
Tiny Menu
Replaces the File/Edit/etc. toolbar with a handy little drop-down menu!
View Source Chart
A handy tool for viewing source, especially if you’re building a webpage. Puts all the divs in a separate color for easy viewing; a double-click closes that particular color box.
Web Developer
A handy toolbar that allows you to edit CSS, edit HTML, and other things; comes with a built-in link to validate your CSS and XHTML…very handy! (Another one David bugged me to get!)
I like messing with my userChrome. See mine! Do not mess with userChrome.css unless you know what you’re doing!
Other Browser Extensions I Liked But Don’t Use Anymore
Adsense Notifier
Puts my adsense earnings (either for the day, the week, the month, all time, etc) in my statusbar, plus the hits, clicks, CPM, etc!
Duplicate Tab
I love this one! Right-click on a tab, and it gives you the option to duplicate it to either a new tab OR a new window! Now, that doesn’t sound very neat…until you learn it copies that tab’s history into the new tab or window!
JS View
I never use it for viewing JS, but I use it for viewing CSS, like when I’m going to help a friend. Allows you to view all the CSS of whatever page, even if they have multiple CSS documents.
Twitbin
A nice Firefox extension for the popular site Twitter that appears in a sidebar. You can choose to show the public view or friends view, and post directly from your browser! It does have an ad, but if you have Stylish… ;)

I have a web page on choosing colors and with a color scheme tool and also the color names and numbers for use in your html and css files.
Eye dropper tool is good for copying a color you like on a page but sometimes you have to get it on the right pixel of an image to get the right one. A color schemer can be better to choose the overall theme.
