Everyone should have a rattle on their fridge (and other interesting thingymabobs)

Browsing around tonight, I found a site that sells t-shirts. A couple of them are rather crude, but I shall link to the best for your enjoyment.

The girls caught some crickets and put them in a jar. They feed them moistened bread. The girls, I mean. The girls feed the crickets moistened bread. (Yum…how…appetizing…?)
Dad saw them and asked, “What do they eat?”
and the girls said “Moistened bread.”
“How do they find moistened bread in the wild?” Dad wanted to know.
They’re usually on the island, these crickets (not Dad!), and they’re interesting to watch. Evidently, the females have this…straw thing coming out of their rear end that they poke in the ground and lay eggs through. Weird, eh? And supposedly the males fight to the death, and supposedly the Japanese keep the male gender of these particular crickets for fighting, kind of like roosters or something. But there’s like two or three in the jar, and they don’t fight! At least, not to the death!

Anyway. Where did that rattle come in, anyway?
Good question.
Well, remember that new fridge we got? The freezer never did get up to speed, and it finally kaputted this morning, and worked off and on through the day. So, Dad bought a new one. Brought it home today, so Beth and I cleaned the top of the “old” fridge. She handed me down the basket full of fake flowers; Joe’s canteen covers; the alfalfa sprouting dish that contained no, not alfalfa, but Joe’s juggling balls, a permanant marker, and matches; a couple boxes of matches; Abby’s sweets from her birthday; and a rattlesnake rattle, glued together (so it doesn’t make noise and doesn’t fall apart).
Yes.
Everybody needs a rattlesnake rattle on their fridge!
