Don’t Mess your Signs Up!
Last Saturday you know we went to the convention, well, while we were sitting in the back, and we had taken sign language classes for a few years (taught by a neighbor lady of ours), so there’s just some signs we use frequently, two of them happening to be “Mom” and “Dad”. Somebody used the sign for Mom or Dad (I don’t remember which), so I was teaching Jay and Abby the signs. Abby wouldn’t try, but Jay got them down.
Tonight at dinner, Jay said “This is Mom!” and signed the sign for “pig”. Whoops!
Meanwhile, Abby knew the sign for Dad and Mom, for real!
Of course, then Joe said the sign for “cool” meant “Joe” and the sign for “pig” meant “Eric”! And Eric was telling Jay a thumbs-up was Eric and two thumbs up was his full name!
