Abby’s Birthday
Tuesday, August 12th, 2008Monday was Abby’s 4th birthday. I’d intended to post, but I didn’t get around to it!
The other day, all the little kids got new socks and underwear. Abby was telling me about her new underwear. “They work,” she said.
Then she was telling Mom that she has her “out to town socks” and her “out to town underwear”. Mom said “I don’t think you need ‘out to town underwear’, because nobody would see them!”
And she said “They’ll see them in the holes of my shoes!”
And Mom said “No, those are your socks!”
Also, evidently, Abby has an imaginary friend named Mayna, who whom she says is her twin. Beth said Abby’s Mayna voice is funny, so I was trying to get her to speak in it. “Have Mayna say hi,” I said. She just giggled. “Can Mayna come over?”
“She lives far away,” Abby said.
“Can’t you ask her to come?” I asked.
“Her mom always says no,” Abby said.
For her birthday dinner she had rice, alfredo sauce, and grilled chicken and shrimp. It was soooo good!
She’s pretty proud that she’s allowed in the kitchen and on the tile now that she’s four!
Joe’s Baptism
Sunday, August 3rd, 2008On Monday, July 28th, we gathered together with some friends at Lake Elmo to celebrate the joyous occasion of Joe’s baptism.
Dad has chosen that we can make the decision to obey Jesus and be baptized or not at the age of 18, which in America is legal adult age. Baptism is an identification or dedication. You can be baptized into many things. We are baptized into the way of Jesus Christ, as He commanded. (Matthew 28:16-20) Baptism doesn’t save you, it’s just an outward expression of an inward change.
So anyway. Quite a few families showed up, which was very nice. Here’s some pictures (all can be viewed here), and at the end, videos. Some pictures were taken by Mr. H., most by Beth. Videos by Eric.

Dad asking Joe a question

As they were walking out, Dad’s footing became unsteady and he grabbed onto Joe. “Somebody’s going to get baptized!” he said.

“It gives me great pleasure to baptize you, Joe, in the way, the obedience, and the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.”

It’s kinda blurry but look at those grins!!
The full video with “a few words” from Dad.
Just the end of the video.
Afterwards, we all came back home and sat or stood around talking until the last family finally left at quarter to twelve. Dad invited everyone to stay for a week like a real Biblical celebration but can you believe nobody took us up on it?? Man…what’s wrong with people nowadays?
Anyways. It was a very exciting occasion and I’m glad I could share it by video!! The first one is longer but worth it.

In case you haven't noticed, my name is Anne, but in RL it's pronounced Annie. At this moment in time I happen to be 21 years old. Herein you will find: The rants, rambles, and otherwise uninteresting happenings in the life of...well, ME, you might say.
