1. My favorite spatula (for cooking, not rubber) has no handle and I fished it out of the garbage twice to save it

Good News and Bad News
Saturday, July 28th, 2007I like the bad news to be first, so here’s the bad news!
The really cool pictures on my phone can’t be taken off unless somebody (hint hint) pays 25c a picture.
The good news:
I have two pictures of Abby! Taken on Dad’s phone by Joe (Dad’s phone has the capabilities to be downloaded to the computer).
Our phones have a screen on the front, and Dad’s screen is a reflection, so to speak, of what the viewfinder of the phone sees! Abby thought that was pretty cool.

Saturday, July 28th, 2007Of course, dinner together is always more fun with Dad home!
See, the kids got these coupons from the library’s reading program (which just ended…Eric won an iPod Shuffle and Beth won a nice bike!!), and there’s some for Golden Corral (or as Dad calls it, Golden Griddle). We take a yearly trip to Golden Corral…after the library’s reading program!
Ben was wondering when we were going to go. “Are we going to Golden Corral tomorrow night?” he asked.
“Nope,” Dad said. “That was easy.”
“When do you want to go?” Mom asked.
“Monday night,” Dad said.
“Can we rent the banquet room?” Joe.
Mom. “They don’t let you.”
“They don’t?!?” All of us.
“Maybe we should come in two’s!” Joe suggested. “Like for a party! And carry balloons, you know!”
“We could pair the kids off! Each pair has a kid,” Dad suggested. “Anne and Ben could have Abby, Beth and Eric could have…Joe…”
Everybody laughed.
Eric stood and did Joe’s “jerk act” (when somebody says to Joe, “Stop acting like a jerk!” he will do just that–jerk around). “Yeah, he’ll be coming behind us doing this!”
“Hey, I know! I can like wear a black hat and black jeans that are too big and a long black shirt and slouch along behind them!” Joe said, and Eric said “Yeah, and we’ll be like, ‘Comon, Son!’”
We had a great laugh over that!
